Dear Paul Howes, why haven't you spoken to the police about your members' money?

MICHAEL SMITH:

Paul,
Bruce Wilson used the AWU's name to rip off hundreds of thousands of dollars and to keep that money for himself or for his co-accused.   The money is gone.  Don't you want it back?   What sort of message do you want to send by not going to police - that it's OK to use your members' union's name to steal?   You could clear up the union's good name by making a complaint to police today.
Thiess Contractors were unwilling to complain to police because they thought they were getting something from the AWU that was of value to them for the money they paid.   That means that the AWU should have got the money Thiess spent.   How can you say to your members that those hundreds of thousands of dollars should have gone to Wilson and his co-accused.   It was your union's name that was illegally used Paul.
I know that Victoria Police are currently investigating the rip-off.   Why haven't you spoken to them?   Are you endorsing Wilson's crimes, Blewitt's crimes and the acts of any accessories to those crimes?
Wilson claimed a living away from home allowance from your union when he was secretly living in a house that he was paying off.
Paul, why won't you speak to the police?
